Grateful dog owner describes mountain rescue after canine apparently ingests cannabis

Christina Bluhme was hiking on Ben Nevis, Britain's tallest mountain, with her dogs when her 5-year-old black Labrador retriever, Tokyo, began to act strangely. Tokyo appeared to have ingested cannabis, swaying and eventually unable to walk. Bluhme, a canine trainer, was initially puzzled but soon realized the dog was in distress. With the hike nearing its end and weather turning, Bluhme decided to turn back. They called for help, and the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team, already descending from the peak, came to their aid. The team swiftly carried Tokyo down the mountain, reaching the trailhead in about an hour. Veterinarians at Crown Vets in Fort William diagnosed Tokyo with cannabis intoxication after she showed symptoms of neurotoxin exposure. After receiving treatment, Tokyo made a full recovery. Bluhme expressed relief at the quick recovery and the support received during the ordeal.
