Meet Willow, our Adoptable Pet of the Week in Greater Portland
Willow, a 2-year-old mixed-breed dog from Georgia, is now available for adoption in Greater Portland, eager to find a loving home.
This week, the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is spotlighting Willow, a 2-year-old mixed-breed dog, as their Adoptable Pet of the Week. Willow, who was rescued from Georgia where she was a stray, has quickly become a beloved member of the shelter staff. Known for her intelligence, eagerness to please, and love for belly rubs, Willow thrives on human interaction and attention. While she has shown compatibility with children, the shelter has faced challenges introducing her to other dogs. For now, Willow would do best in a home without other canines, but there is potential for her to form friendships with other dogs in the future.
The Animal Refuge League's shelter is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, at their Westbrook location. Interested adopters should sign up on the sheets placed on the front door at 9 a.m. on the day of their visit. For those adopting a dog older than 6 months, a meeting with the adoptable pet is required before bringing the new dog home. More information about Willow and other adoptable pets can be found on the Animal Refuge League's website.
