Clear the Shelters | Meet Marcella, a sweet girl who loves to cuddle!

Marcella, a sweet 5-year-old dog, was recently featured as part of the Clear the Shelters initiative by WSLS 10 News. This calm and affectionate pup, who prefers cuddles over toys, was hoping to find a forever home. Marcella was part of the Roanoke Valley SPCA's first-ever Rescue Effect Adoption Event, which offered a free adoption opportunity for her. Thanks to an ASPCA Rescue Effect grant, Marcella's adoption fee was waived, and she was also part of the Pets for Patriots program, aiming to connect military veterans with companion animals. The adoption event took place on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at the Roanoke Valley SPCA. The good news is that Marcella was adopted shortly after being featured on 10 News, bringing joy to both her and her new family. Every adoption, like Marcella's, helps create space for another animal in need, allowing families to change two lives with one adoption.
