Fur Baby Friday: Flower and Biscuit — two sweet shelter dogs looking for loving homes

This week's Fur Baby Friday from the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center features Flower and Biscuit, two dogs with distinct personalities but a shared hope for a loving home. Flower, a 1 1/2-year-old Golden Retriever, arrived at the shelter as a stray but has quickly become a favorite with her friendly and easygoing nature. She enjoys meeting new people, snuggling, and walking on a leash. Flower is believed to be housebroken, making her transition to a new home smooth. She gets along well with other dogs but prefers a calm lifestyle. After her television appearance, Flower became available for adoption, with an adoption hold possible starting at 10 a.m. on Friday. She will be ready for her new home on Monday following her spay surgery.

Biscuit, a 7-year-old Boxer mix, is a laid-back dog who enjoys a quiet life of napping, eating, and cuddling. She is currently being treated for food-related allergies, and the shelter is seeking a foster-to-adopt home to provide her with ongoing care while she settles in. During the foster period, the shelter covers all medical expenses.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter is also hosting community events this weekend, including the Community Pet Supply Give Back and Community Care Day, to help local pet owners access necessary supplies and resources. In August, the shelter will participate in the Clear the Shelters campaign, with reduced adoption fees and a Sleepover event where dog adoption fees will be waived.
