MCSO MASH Minute: Meet Yelena and her puppies, an Australian shepherd mix looking for a home

Yelena, a 2-3 year old Australian Shepherd and Newfoundland mix, was rescued from a neglect case by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Animal Crimes Unit. Along with about a dozen other dogs, Yelena was taken from a situation where she and the others were not receiving the care they needed. The dogs were kept by the Sheriff's Office’s MASH Unit as evidence until the court proceedings were completed.

ABC15 Arizona partners with MCSO each week to highlight an animal available for adoption. This week, Yelena and her puppies are the focus. Yelena and her puppies now reside at the Old 1st Avenue Jail, where the MASH Unit is located. With her case now resolved, Yelena is ready for adoption. A few of her puppies have already found homes.

Yelena is described as a super sweet, friendly dog who plays well with her puppies. She will need a home that can provide a bit of training, but she is expected to be a joyful addition to any family.
